Introducing Jewelry Thursdays

As part of my New Year's resolutions, I am upping the ante on blogging.

In the past, I have consistently posted every Monday since May 2012. I am proud that I have gotten this far. I have a few times found that it can be a challenge to get that one post published. Other times I have too many posts drafted and am too excited for the weeks to pass so that they all get published.

I have decided that as a part of my resolutions I want to start publishing two posts per week. I will continue my Monday post, which will continue to be a variety of topics. Monday post topics will include DiY projects, recipes, family posts and tech reviews.

On Thursdays, I will now be posting strictly on jewelry making. This will actually hit two birds with one stone. One of my resolutions was to blog more, the other was to create more jewelry. My goal is to eventually open up my own etsy or storenvy shop for jewelry. In order to do this I need to have inventory. I also need practice in taking pictures and describing the pieces. Blogging about jewelry is how I'm going to practice these valuable skills while also building inventory. I am also hoping that blogging about my jewelry will inspire readers to make their way over to my future shop.

Without any further ado, I would like to present to you my first jewelry post of the new year:

If you are curious about the jewelry in the picture at the top... The first column, starting from the top, is Wire 1 (part 1): Basic Loop, Wire 1 (part 2): My First Earrings (two different earrings pictured, but same technique) and Faux Antique Crystal Chandelier Earrings. Second column starts with my Green Leaves Earrings. The purple hoops, Celtic earrings, black crystal earrings for gauged ears and pearl earrings are all from my Christmas Presents Acquired post; I made these for my in-laws this Christmas. The last picture is a bird's nest necklace I made for Mother's day last year, which I haven't blogged about (yet).

Have you started following through on your new years resolutions? Tell us about it!

  1. Great idea to set a structure for yourself with a weekly jewelry post - - and I love that it "hits two birds with one stone," as you said (much nicer than killing those birds - -wink). Looking forward to seeing two posts a week from you now!

  2. Doh! Let's just say I was being nice. ;) I am excited to be producing more content. I like giving myself some structure and love scheduling posts. I will probably end up publishing some random posts here and there too. I have so many ideas in my head! You know how that is. Can't wait to see some of your silhouette posts!
