I was walking around the neighborhood last Saturday looking to practice with my camera. It was a wonderful spring day. I didn't even need to wear a jacket or sweatshirt! I took some lovely shots that reminded me that Spring is coming.

Daffodils and Blue Skies - Daffodils are always synonymous with spring to me. I tried to capture the blue skies behind these flowers. I always love photos that capture high contrast in colors. |

Pink Flowers and Blue Skies - These beautiful pink flowers in the trees seemed to pop up over night all over Seattle to celebrate the beginning of Spring. |
My dad swooped me up in his van when he found out I was out and about taking pictures. He wanted to join in on the fun.

Blue Skies and Clouds - I became obsessed with looking up at the sky. It feels like forever since it has been this blue! |
I can definitely see that my dad is getting older. He gets tired quicker. He normally loves going out on long, wandering walks. Today, he just wanted to drive to each photo opportunity, take a few shots and then drive to the next.
When I started to wander, looking for something to take a photo of, he would shepherd me back to his van to drive to the next location.
It is hard to picture my dad getting old. I have always bragged about what great health he is in. He has practiced Tai Chi since he was 18 years old. I always bragged that my dad can put his foot over his head while standing up straight. I wonder if he can still do that? It is really shocking to see a 6'-4" man put his foot over his head.

Bamboo Leaves and Blue Skies - Every where I went, I kept getting looking up. I just loved how these bamboo leaves looked in contrast to the sky. |
Anyways, these are some of the better photos I took on the third day of spring in Seattle. Hope spring is starting to rear its head in your neck of the woods.
Cheers!
It finally feels like spring around here. FYI~ I just posted my latest A Little About Diana and I answered your question at DianaRambles.com!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I especially love the cherry blossoms set against the blue sky.
ReplyDeleteSpring is finally arriving to all you people that have been cold-bound for months.. love these shots and yes, the cherry blossoms are so pretty!! Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Those blossoms were so pretty! I couldn't help but take a ton of pictures of them.
ReplyDeleteHaha! You and your sunshine state. :P (or have you made the move to NOLA yet?) It was nice this weekend too, but it is back to Seattle Gray today. Happy Spring to you too! If you get the concept that is? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat photo of the old tennis court is stunning; I'd like to imagine that in its hay day, it could have been something out of The Great Gatsby. And I loved picturing your Dad put his foot over his head. I have NEVER been able to do that. Might have to try me some Tai Chi!
ReplyDeleteYou're really working wonders with that new camera of yours. The colors you captured are brilliant, and it's evident that spring has sprung!
Beautiful photos! I love the daffodil one, so pretty! It is so exciting to see everything come back alive again. Great job with these!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty.. I am actually going to New Orleans Sunday for the week to meet with my Realtor.. My son Graduates in may, then it's Bon Voyage Florida..
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! That is awesome!!! How exciting! Congrats! I know so many people from Seattle that absolutely love NOLA. And congrats on your son graduating! What's his major?
