October Fitness Update

Happy Monday!

I am now down 21 pounds! This is 5 pounds from last month. I had planned on taking some pictures of how I have shrunk up, but I have been so distracted by planning our wedding!

We went and checked out a venue this weekend. We are totally reserving it! It was love at first sight. I told him all kinds of options, but when I told him about this one, he practically jumped out of his chair with enthusiasm. It is definitely more us.

In other news, we are gearing up to look for a house. More on that later!

So seeing how busy I am, you will forgive me if I keep this short...

Goals

Here are my goals for fall:
  • Purchase a jump rope and practice jumping rope once per week for 5-15 minutes at a time
  • Do a set of 15 sit-ups once per week
  • Do a set of 10 lunges per leg once per week

Yeah... epic fail on all of these!

The idea was to start introducing these types of workouts so that when the weather turned, I would be set for some indoor exercising. Yeah... the weather is already bad! We jumped straight from summer to winter. :(

On the plus side, I am still losing weight by jog/walking (when it isn't raining) and watching my Calories. I purchased a FitBit Flex, which I am planning on writing up a review on. The short version of my review is you should wait for the FitBit Force. I'll give you details soon (hopefully!).

I'll just repeat the above goals for this coming month.

Cheers!

  2. Hope you like the Fitbit - I have the One and I wouldn't want to be without it.

I have a jump rope, but my home gym ceiling isn't high enough, and it's just awkward to do it upstairs, it's still hard to find a spot indoors that works. Jumping rope is hard!

    1. It's alright. I like that I am now having a total Calorie burn adjustment for the day in MFP. I just think the Fitbit Force would have been a better fit for me, but I didn't realize it was coming out. I end up still wanting to wear a pedometer to get more feedback while going for a jog/walk.

I haven't tried jumping rope yet. I don't have a home gym, so I am trying to come up with some good indoor exercises. The building has a garage, so I am thinking I could do it there. It has pretty high ceilings. We'll see if I actually follow through though. I have been so distracted lately. :)

  3. 21 pounds!? That is so awesome, Bethany! Congrats on your progress! I haven't worked out in ages, which is terrible. Somehow I spend all of my spare time doing craft projects... ;) Hope you had a wonderful weekend, friend!

    1. Thank you, Abby! I am feeling awesome! I totally get the spending all your time doing craft projects. It shows on your blog! You have really been doing some awesome work. I just don't have the time to do so much! Not to mention that my last attempt was a total craft fail!

  4. Congrats on your weight loss!

I've been using a Fitbit Ultra (the old version of the FitBit One) for nearly two years now and just love it!

    1. Thank you! I am pretty proud of how much weight I have dropped. :D I like the Fitbit Flex, but I think the new Fitbit Force would have been better. I just didn't know it was coming out when I purchased the flex. I really like having a good understanding of what I am burning, I just wish I could see my steps / Calories on the fly instead of having to get to my computer.
