This Sunday I took the Wire 3 - Advanced Wire Working class from Beadworld, my neighborhood bead shop. I love this store and I love their classes. The instructors and staff are so helpful! I have seen them teach customers on the fly and even help customers finish off their pieces in the store. They now offer free mini workshops in addition to the more detailed paid classes.
The Wire 3 class was so wonderful! We went over so much! The class went from 10:30 to 4:30. Let me just say, that is a LONG time for a crafting workshop. I was beat. And I mean BEAT!
It really got me inspired though. I came out of class pumped and ready to get back on track. I have so many projects I want to share with you.
The last class I took was in May, I believe, and I still owe you a tutorial of what I learned in that class. I figured today I will share with you what I plan on going over in the next month or so. It will help me get back on task and hopefully get you excited too.
Here are my upcoming tutorials!
Wire 2: Wire Wrapped Loop
This tutorial will build on skills from Wire 1: the Basic Loop. Here are some examples of what can be made with the wire wrapped loop:O Earwire with Dangles
I actually self-taught myself this one when making Christmas presents this past December. To my surprise, they taught us how to make these in my Wire 3 class. I LOVE figuring it out before class time. The same thing happened when I came up with my design for the Green Leaves Earrings. Here is an example of the earring that will be made in this tutorial:O Earwire with Dangles - These are the earrings I gave my mother-in-law for Christmas. |
Seed Bead Hoop Earring
This earring is a tear drop hoop with seed beads, hanging from ear wires. Below is the one I made back in December for a Christmas present for my sister-in-law.Seed Bead Hoop Earrings - Tear drop hoop earrings with seed beads. |
Future Topics
I plan on covering what I learned in the advanced wire working class, however, it will be spread out over then next few months. I want to build my DIY Kitchen Table before I start investing in more jewelry making tools. Part of my dilemma is that I don't have adequate crafting space. I don't even have a table right now! One of the tools I will be buying to make my table will serve double duty for jewelry making (so excited!).Are you as excited as I am for these upcoming tutorials?
Do you like how my pictures for the wire wrapped loop turned out? I think they look so much more professional! I still need to work on getting the correct exposure, but I am very excited on how they turned out. Can you believe that these pictures were taken in the evening? I will be sharing how I took these shots this coming Monday.

Beautiful jewelry, Bethany! I used to make jewelry and dabbled in beading, but I haven't done it in a while. Maybe I should get it back out one of these days! Hope you're having a great week!

Thanks for sharing what's coming up. Linda
ReplyDeleteOooo! Look at you with a sneak peek! It seems I never work ahead enough to merit such a post, but I really do love a good teaser. And yes, your photos with the new camera are stellar. So profesh! And I'm also anxious to see your DIY Kitchen Table when you finish it. I'm sure it will get a lot of craft lovin' once it's created.
ReplyDeleteThose earrings that you gave your mother-in-law are fabulous! Visiting today from the no rules weekend blog party.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on Domestic Superhero's Thursday Link Party! Hope to see you again this week!
ReplyDeleteYou should, Abby! The week is gone already and another one is starting. Sorry for the late reply. Work just got crazy on me! Hope you had a great weekend. I got to see my nephew (17 months old). That age is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, Lauren! I am the opposite. Always planning ahead but having a hard time following through. I think I lied in this post. It is what I am planning, but I don't think I'm going to get to it soon. :( My work just got crazy on me and I am planning 50-70 hours per week of work for the next couple months. I'll try to squeeze some blogging time in, but my guy time will be competing. :)
ReplyDeleteWe'll still be here whenever you find the time to invest in blogging, but guy time comes first! 50-70 hours of work/week? That's a lot, girl! Hoping you can find moments of respite and renewal amidst the busyness. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot! This is our busy time of the year and I always forget how crazy it gets. In a month or two it will quiet down some and I'll be able to get that table done! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! My "baby" C is 20 months old...it's a fun {and ornery!} stage! I hope work calms down soon! Hope you're having a great week!
