Firstly. I have to say a special thank you to Abby @ Just a Girl and her Blog and Joanne @ Creative Mess for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award and the Liebster Award respectively. I never accepted these awards so I won't put them on my Features and Awards page. I just wanted you both to know that it made me very happy that you nominated me and wanted to make sure you know it {since I didn't say so in a post :) }.
The timing just wasn't right and I actually went way overboard with a draft for the Versatile Blogger Award {all full of pictures and stuff!} that ended up being shelved because I didn't finish it. {I'll refrain from doing that this time around!} I actually chopped up what I had and used it to update my About and Blogroll pages, so it wasn't a total waste.
Now on to the award!
Very Inspiring Blogger Award
Rules
Here are the rules for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.
1. Link back to the blogger who nominated you:
3. Share 7 facts about yourself:
- My parents are total hippies. My dad even lived communally when he was fresh out of high school. My mom tried to convince me to not wear a bra and never shave my legs or armpits. I ended up shaving the pits and wearing a bra when I got my first job {17 years old} and started shaving my legs in my twenties {only off and on though, I'm too lazy}.
- I have a birthmark on my left ear that is an extra bump. It's not really noticeable and I forget it's there, but every now and then people point it out.
- I am a certified scuba diver, although I haven't dived since I was 17. My last experience wasn't pleasant as I had outgrown my wet suit {bigger thighs and boobs} and thus had cold water circulating through it. I hope to someday dive somewhere warm and beautiful (Hawaii? Belize? Great Barrier Reef?) in a well fitting wet or dry suit.
- I almost drowned in a swimming pool when I was 2 years old. My mother was pregnant in the pool and I fell in near her. She was too pregnant to lift me out. What's weird about this is I didn't know this had happened until I was 15 years old. During a writing class, we were discussing our earliest memory. Someone mentioned almost drowning in a pool and it triggered a feeling that it had happened to me. I went home and asked my mom and she confirmed it and told me what happened. So strange how memories work, huh?
- When I was 8 years old, I poured myself a giant glass of milk and looked my mom in the eye and told her it would be the last glass of milk I ever drink. And it was. I knew it made me feel sick, even back then, so I cut it from my diet. My mom thought I was just being silly and was shocked when I stuck to my plan.
- I found my first (and second) gray hair less than a month ago. I know this really doesn't mean anything. I know people can start going gray pretty young. It was still a shock to my system. I have never dyed my hair and don't plan on starting any time soon. I have a coworker about the same age as me. Her gray hairs are noticeable, but almost look like highlights. It's actually kind of pretty.
- I met my fiance on an online video game. I had never planned to ever meet someone online. We both played Final Fantasy XI Online. I don't know, we just had a connection. He asked me for my number and I refused. You know, the whole, "what if he's secretly an ax murderer?" After time, I caved and that was all she wrote. He moved to Seattle to be with me about 4 years ago as of October.

I'm blushing! So incredibly honored! I love that you met "the guy" on a video game. I have heard of so many couples meeting like that. I guess it's all that strategizing and raiding that bonds you together. {Is that what you even do? I know nothing about gaming, but I've just heard people talk about it, lol!} Hope you had a wonderful week, friend!

You deserve the honor! And no worries! These awards are kind of like chain letters. I never participated in chain letters, but I do find these awards flattering. This is my third nomination, but the only one that I finally accepted via response post. It was fun coming up with the factoids.
DeleteThanks for dropping by! Hugs to you friend!
