On The Beach

I know I haven't really introduced Waldron Island, but as I was working through my pictures, I wanted to share a few pictures from our trip there. I'll explain what a pain it was to get to the island and the living conditions in a later post.

Our second full day on Waldron Island, we hiked down to the beach on the north side. We went down the County Road, down the airport strip, through the woods and down a bluff. It was worth it!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day:

My fiance has been striking this pose in almost every picture I take of him. He wore his Dharma shirt, which is what he always wears when traveling to an island or traveling via plane. Yeah, he's a fan.

We walked along the rocks looking in tide pools - left to right: my sister in law, my brother, my nephew and my stepson.

My stepson had fun following my brother around looking for sea creatures in the tide pools. My brother is so good with kids. I knew he would make a wonderful father. 

They found a star fish! They brought it up the beach to share with us.

My stepson got inspired by this hike and decided he wanted to map out the island in Minecraft when he gets home. He told my sister-in-law all about it. I gave him the point and shoot camera and he went around taking pictures of everything. He even went off on his own to explore a bit. He's so grown up!
