WW#15: Conure Babies!

When we picked up our quaker parrot, Peri, from boarding on our way back from the honeymoon, we were totally bad and looked at the other birds...

My husband has been wanting us to get another bird for a while now. We've played around with the idea for years. It just didn't feel like it was the right time, since he's been unemployed and in school these past couple years.

We totally fell in love with these two cute conure babies:

The darker one is a crimson bellied conure. He still has his baby feathers. Once his adult feathers grow in, he will have a bright red belly like this:

The lighter one is a pineapple green cheeked conure. She is a color mutation. They normally look like this:

They loved each other so much. They kept insisting on stepping up together. They just wanted to snuggle and get scratchies. So cute!

I think we will probably get another parrot baby once he gets a job. It will be nice to introduce Peri to a new flock member before we have kids. Also, the lady at the store told us parrots do much better when there is another bird in the house. Then they have someone to hang out with when the humans are at work.
